Apple Rolls Out New Thunderbolt Update – Firmware V1.2

Apple today released a new version update to its revolutionary I/O technology standard – Thunderbolt Firmware version 1.2. You can download the update Here.
For those of you unaware about the high-performance Thunderbolt I/O port, it supports high-resolution displays and fast-performance data devices through its single I/O port (just like USB port). Thunderbolt port is known for fastest data transfer speed, flexibility and compatibility, which is available on MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini devices.

What will the new firmware update bring?

One of the important factor the new update brings is stability, it fixes stability issues for Thunderbolt and Target Disk Mode.

Instruction for the Update

When the update is applied, the computer system starts and the update with a gray screen appears along with a progress indicator. The user is expected not to disturb or shut down the power supply to the device during the update. Also, the computer system is required to plugged into the AC power in order for the update to start.

The update is of 1.22MB size and is available for download on the Apple site.
