Will the next-gen iPad mini come with Retina resolution?

The iPad mini has turned out to be a pretty impressive device, both in the opinions of users and critics. However, it missing the Retina display is still a matter of complaints. Therefore, it will be largely expected that the next-generation update of the iPad mini will come with Retina display like the larger iPads. This anticipations has also been backed by  a report from Digitimes, which states that Apple is indeed working on increasing the resolution of the second generation iPad mini.

The sources have yet to specify whether the device will use Apple’s Retina Display technology to enhanced resolution, but market observers said it is highly likely based on the development of past Apple products such as the iPhone and 9.7-inch iPad series”. Says the report.

It is certainly a tricky task to add Retina display to a device as thin as the iPad mini. It would mean that the iPad mini will have to be packed with large battery and more solid processor. Therefore, there is quite a lot apprehensions right now that iPad mini can come with Retina resolution any time sooner.
